Zurich's Fountains

With a total of some 1200 there are few cities in the world that can boast more fountains than Zurich. But these gently babbling fountains - a testimoney of bygone days have long since ceased to be used for the purpose for which they were orgininally intended and, sad to say, many of them are virtually ignored by passers-by

The idea of producing this book comes from Zurich's Water Department, who are the people actually in charge of the fountains. To celebrate their 125th anniversary they have compiled a series of stories, delightfully illustrated, which are dedicated to all those who are captivated by the sheer poetry of the fountains as they stroll through the streets of Zurich and derive pleasure from the sight and sound of running water.
